William Wray's Main Artist Website

William Wray has lived in California most of his life and studied painting at the Art Students League in New York. Making his living as a cartoonist who specialized in painted subjects, comics and animation, he spent many years coalescing a eclectic array of art styles, ultimately finding his voice in a contemporized reflection of traditional California regional painting that focus on humble subject matter rarely considered as fine art. He has two collections of his paintings entitled "Dirty Beauty" and "Sparrow." He is a member of LAPPA, the California Art club and the OIL Painters of America. Bill recently had a one-man show at the Bakersfield Museum of art and is in the Vault Gallery in Cambria Ca. and Windrush in Sedona. He was profiled in the July '09 Southwest Art and his contest wins are listed on his website: http://williamwray.com/

Wray resides in Sierra Madre, California with his significant other Sharon and his linguist-gifted parrot Mooky.
